Where do your tax dollars go?
Southern Cascades CSD receives approximately $228,000/year in parcel tax assessment revenue from residents of Lassen and Modoc counties. This revenue supports the operations of our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division.
It costs roughly $600,000/year to provide a fully staffed ambulance to our community. That means tax funding covers 38% of the cost to operate a fully staffed ambulance.
To operate a 24/7 Non-Transport Quick Response ALS service, it costs approximately $365,000 a year.
The Non-Emergent Medical Transportation Services Division (HTS) of the District anticipates contributing $125,000/year to assist in funding EMS services and continues to work towards growth in order to contibute more revenue to EMS. HTS does not utilize any parcel tax revenue for its operations.
